United Wilson • Chinese Porcelain • Gilt-Bronze Ormolu • 23" Wide • Approx. 30 lbs

An impressive United Wilson Chinese porcelain jardinière mounted in elaborate gilt-bronze ormolu, combining richly hand-painted decoration with substantial European-inspired metalwork.

The large porcelain bowl is decorated inside and out with colorful figural and landscape scenes, floral motifs and intricate cobalt-blue geometric decoration. An elaborate gilt-bronze mount surrounds the vessel with dramatic scrolling handles, foliate ornament and a sculptural pedestal base.

Exceptionally substantial, the jardinière measures approximately 23" handle-to-handle and weighs nearly 30 pounds, giving it wonderful scale and presence for a grand interior, entry, console or pedestal display.

Both components are marked. The porcelain bears a blue underglaze Chinese-style mark, while the bronze mount carries the United Wilson crowned UW/1897 mark.
