Description: A pair of late Louis XV gilt bronze ormolu chenets andirons, circa 1770. Each feature flaming athenienne with spirally fluted body and lion-mask monopodia, on a paneled base with berried guilloche above a vine-trailed frieze mounted with a central Apollo mask within a ribbon-tied frame hung with fruiting garlands, the other end with Neoclassical urn with berried finial and scrolled arms above an acanthus cup, on acanthus-headed acorn feet, lacking iron return arms.

Measurements: (Each) Width: 16 inches, Depth: 6 inches, Height: 15 3/4 inches

The details and craftmanship on these breathtaking chenets are exquisite and will certainly be the focal point anywhere they are displayed while being cherished for many years to come.

Condition Report: Very good condition with normal wear consistent with age and use. Shows some fading, imperfections and patina/dark spots as expected for being 255 years old.
