An impressive four-piece English sterling silver tea and coffee service by Kirkby & Law Ltd., fully hallmarked in Birmingham for 1930. With a substantial combined weight of 2,048 grams (65.85 troy oz.), the complete matched service includes a coffee pot, teapot, creamer and two-handled sugar bowl.

Beautifully executed in the Georgian Revival tradition, each piece features an elegant shaped body raised on delicate cabriole-style feet and crowned by an unusually decorative pierced gallery rim with scrolling foliate motifs. The coffee pot and teapot retain their traditional dark ebony handles and finials, providing a striking contrast against the polished sterling silver.

The service is additionally marked Rd 710896, identifying the registered design dating to 1924. Together with the complete Birmingham assay marks and Kirkby & Law maker's mark, these details provide excellent identification for this distinctive early 20th-century English silver service. Its substantial scale, complete matched composition and elaborate pierced decoration make it equally impressive for use, display or a collection of fine English silver.

Condition Report: Excellent antique condition with normal surface scratches and polishing swirls consistent with age and careful use. The creamer has a small crease dent, clearly shown in the last photograph. The coffee pot and teapot interiors show typical staining from prior use.
