An exceptional and highly collectible Jay Strongwater Christmas Ornaments picture frame, lavishly decorated with colorful hand-applied enamel, sparkling Swarovski crystals and richly sculpted gold-tone metalwork.

The festive design surrounds the photograph with an elaborate arrangement of evergreen branches, pinecones and colorful Christmas ornaments, each rendered in Strongwater's signature jewel-like style. Brilliant shades of ruby red, emerald green, cobalt blue, purple and gold are accented throughout with hand-set Swarovski crystals, while the rich red enameled inner border beautifully frames the photograph.

What makes this particular example especially desirable is the reverse, which is clearly personally hand signed and dated by Jay Strongwater with the inscription “Jay Strongwater 2000 Merry Christmas.” Unlike the applied maker's plaque, this is an actual handwritten signature and dated holiday inscription by Jay Strongwater.

The brass backing is additionally engraved SPF 5198, identifying the frame's Strongwater style/model number, while the reverse also bears the applied JAY STRONGWATER® maker's plaque.

The exceptional craftsmanship continues on the reverse with richly textured gold-tone metalwork and colored cabochon-style stones set directly into the sculpted foliage of the ornate pierced easel back.

Dating to 2000, this beautiful holiday picture frame is now more than 25 years old and is a wonderful example of Strongwater's earlier jeweled and enameled decorative work. Particularly special with its hand signature, dated Christmas inscription and documented SPF 5198 number, it would make an exceptional addition to a Jay Strongwater or Christmas collection.
