Original Hildesheimer Rose • .925 Sterling Silver • Mother of Pearl

Model 1978 • Germany • Original Box & Certificate

An elegant Christoph Widmann Original Hildesheimer Rose sterling silver and mother-of-pearl spoon, handcrafted in Germany and measuring approximately 5⅜ inches long. The luminous natural mother-of-pearl bowl is joined to an exceptionally detailed .925 sterling silver handle adorned with sculptural roses, leaves and stems characteristic of Widmann's celebrated Hildesheimer Rose design.

The Hildesheimer Rose has been associated with the Christoph Widmann silversmithing tradition since the firm's early 20th-century history and became one of its most recognizable designs. This particular form is documented as an egg spoon, Model 1978; its nonreactive mother-of-pearl bowl also makes it especially well-suited for serving caviar.

Especially desirable, this example retains its original Christoph Widmann presentation box and Original Hildesheimer Rose Certificate of Quality. The sterling handle is clearly marked CHRISTOPH WIDMANN / 925 with additional maker/fineness symbols, providing excellent authentication of its German manufacture and sterling silver content.
