An exceptionally scarce Christofle Renaissance solid sterling silver pie and cake server, crafted in France and featuring the elaborate pierced decoration and classical mascaron characteristic of this distinguished pattern. The substantial solid sterling blade is beautifully finished with an unusual, engraved double-line border following its perimeter, a detail we have been unable to locate on another example of this Renaissance serving piece.

This example is particularly noteworthy because the blade itself bears CHRISTOFLE, STERLING and the OC 925 hallmark, confirming its solid .925 sterling silver composition rather than the stainless-steel blade found on the more commonly encountered version. At 11 1/4 inches long and 148 grams, it is a substantial and exceptionally difficult-to-find Renaissance serving piece.
