We are pleased to offer this spectacular and scarce Royal Vienna 19^th Century hand-painted porcelain portrait vase of Madame Pompadour crafted and signed by the esteemed artist, Franz Wagner.

Description: A stunningly gorgeous hand painted portrait vase of “Madame de Pompadour” a member of the French court and official chief mistress of Louis XV from 1745 to 1751. The central portrait of Madame de Pompadour is finely hand painted, capturing her likeness with delicate features and soft colors and elaborately decorated with a radiant gilt design, showcasing an intricate floral, scroll and beaded motif highlighted over a rich burgundy red background.

Measurements: 6" high x 4.5" diameter

Hallmarks / Authenticity: Front: signed "Wagner” in lower left. Bottom: Blue underglaze beehive mark / “Pompadour” “Dec: 603. Depose” written in black script / “5518. 45=W” written in red on bottom rim of the base / "12-9. MA. 86.825" written in black near the top edge of the base.

Condition Report: Very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Only very minor surface wear with a few missing gilt dots, nothing significant and absolutely does not affect the appearance of this gorgeous vase.
