We are pleased to offer this absolutely stunning antique English Victorian very large Monumental silver-plated epergne centerpiece dating back to the late 1800’s. This breathtaking epergne is decorated with intricate grapes, vines and leaves foliate and features two delightful climbing cherub figures.

Surmounted by a cut glass dish in a reticulated holder over a naturalistically cast standard issuing three detachable S form vine branch arms that are numbered and split to hold two bowls each which can be used for candles. The three arms can also be removed and be used as a tall taza.

The base features a reserved engraved monumental presentation inscription “A LEGACY FROM F. Bayly Esquire 1891” and sits on three scrolled feet, one impressed “2466.”

Markings: Initial “ES” impressed on all three arms and the center piece where the arms are inserted. Unable to identify which silversmith used those initials back in the 1800’s, perhaps it was Edward Smith, Edward Sweet, or Edward Stammers?

Dimensions: 29” high (without glass dish) x 20” wide (maximum arm span)
