Antique Bradley & Hubbard Victorian Electrified Banquet/Parlor Lamp

Late 19th Century, Circa 1880–1900

A beautiful late 19th century Bradley & Hubbard Victorian banquet lamp originally an oil lamp and later converted to electricity featuring an exceptionally ornate cast metal and brass-finished base accented with a marble or alabaster column and an impressive hand-painted floral glass ball shade.

The elaborate base is richly decorated throughout with raised floral motifs, scrolling foliage and classical ornamentation, resting on a substantial four-footed pedestal base. A cylindrical marble or alabaster section provides an elegant contrast to the highly detailed metalwork.

Completing the lamp is a striking green and white milk glass ball shade beautifully hand-painted with large pink and golden-yellow roses surrounded by lush green foliage. When illuminated, the globe takes on a warm glow that beautifully highlights the hand-painted floral decoration.

The original Bradley & Hubbard burner is marked B&H. Originally designed as an oil lamp, the lamp was later converted to electricity, allowing this wonderful Victorian piece to be enjoyed as both a functional lamp and decorative antique.
